Planning and hands-on editorial guidance for major events, including coverage workflows and newsroom mentoring. Support can be tailored to a team or a university-led student newsroom.

I’m Jon, a UK-based editor, writer and editorial consultant. I’ve worked with World Athletics since 2006, during which time I have covered more than 40 global championships, helping shape how the sport's stories are told online.
My work spans reporting, editing, content planning and developing other writers. I care about accuracy, clarity and giving readers a reason to care, whether they know every split time or are watching their first race.
Alongside client work, I’m developing books and creative projects that help more people enjoy the sport.
Features, commentary and statistical deep-dives on the sport, its history and the numbers that make it interesting.
